Hike With Mike on Queeny's White Oak Trail Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Strider: The host tree has been cut down and the stump leaves this cache too exposed. It is time for a new one out here. Thanks Tollybrew for placing it!

Geocache Description:

Located near the White Oak Trail in Queeny Park.

Mike likes to hike. I have decided to add a few more hiking caches to the area. These caches are designed for you to get away from the car and enjoy a nice hike in one of our many beautiful parks. The point of these caches is the journey to the cache, not the cache itself. They aren't meant to be hard to find but they give you that extra reward while on the trail.
This cache is located along the White Oak Trail in Queeny Park. Queeny Park is a nice large park in West County where you can hike or bike. The White Oak Trail is a connector to several other trails. This cache is located about a three quarters of a mile from the nearest parking lot as the crow flies. It is a fairly easy hike on a rolling hard pack surface with some elevation change near the cache. The last 150 feet is a bit of a bushwhack and likely tougher in the summertime. It is a Lock & Lock container with only room for very small items. You will need your trusty pen.

NOTICE: Please be respectful of the posted park hours. If you enter the park after hours you are trespassing. If you are stopped you can be ticketed or arrested and will put the future of geocaching in the parks in jeopardy

Special permission to hide caches in St. Louis County parks is NOT needed as long as the Groundspeak rules are followed. "Blanket Permission" has been worked out in advance with the park service. DO NOT CALL THE PARK as they cannot handle the calls. The Groundspeak cache reviewer does need to know exactly how and where the caches are hidden and what type of containers are used. The geocaching liaisons will notify the park service of new caches. Remember NO AMMO BOXES or PVC PIPE caches.
